For someone who loves to travel more than it is normal, I sure struggle when it comes to packing the right way. I always seem to carry too much, but still complain of not having what I need (extra sunglasses, cover-ups or that fifth pair of shoes) during the trips.
But slowly, I am starting to pay attention to packing the right way, and at times, I even find myself mentally memorising packing tips from various articles and some top travel bloggers in India. Learning never stops, right?
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, said Lao Tzu and for me the first step is to be able to pack smartly, and not over stuffing my suitcase. Laugh if you want, but I am a victim of over packing. I always tend to pack a lot of unnecessary just – might – need items. My luggage is invariably heavier than it should be – but I’m learning.
Like I mentioned above, I am improving. I now make lists and stick to them. I even spent a camping trip in Israel with just one tiny backpack – which is like unlocking a new achievement for me.
And recently, someone asked me for my own Packing Tips and it was equal parts bizarre and hilarious. It made me realize that I am expected to have smart answers to all things related to Travel. All because I travel a lot, and I write about travel a lot. Seems only fair, and after careful consideration of my travel pattern, I am all set with my packing tips. Ta da!
