These are the times of Social Media, and Content, as they say, is the king. It will not be wrong to say that a big part of our daily lives are built around Social Media these days. And why not? Social Media keeps us in touch with the world and it is a huge help for bloggers like myself, who can share their stories with a much wider audiences. A big blessing, right?
But, the challenges for bloggers are still plenty because most social platforms or blogging platforms do not offer sharing content or connecting with people on the basis of interest. As a result, the content fails to reach out to your intended audiences. This is something I have always missed on all social platforms – connections on basis of common interest.
If you are a blogger yourself, you know how it works, right? You publish your blog post or article on your blog. Then you share the link on Facebook. Now, Facebook is generally for friends and family who may or may not share your interests. So, your content sharing is not as well targeted as it should be on Facebook.
You also share the links to your content on Twitter and Pinterest, but there is no real engagement there. For one, your tweet might get lost in the flood of hashtags coming in every minute, and your Pin will not get you a fruitful engagement. Same is the case with most other social media platforms – you almost never get dynamic interaction with your target audience.
This is where Affimity comes in picture.
It is a social network that focuses on interest-specific social channels, which ensures a rich engagement. There is absolutely no need for you to see posts on your feed that you’re not interested in! With Affimity, you can choose to join only the channels that are aligned with your interests.
Every channel on Affimity has content related to it, and is carefully curated. The community buzz is a good way to see what’s happening, and the Affy Help is a great way to know more about it, as a new user. You can also Follow or Friend someone to see their posts on your feed.
I tried out Affimity recently, and loved it. I created my profile – you can check it out here, and I used it over the week. Signing up is pretty easy and I was glad to find a wide selection of channels to participate in. Right off the bat, I shared a few of my Travel Blog Posts in Affimity’s Travel Channel. The interaction and engagement I got in just a few hours was incredible. Don’t believe me? Well, see the screen shot below:
There are other amazing channels like Wellness, where bloggers can share their content and get amazing reach with brilliant engagement. Nothing like seeing comments and feedback on your posts, right? And this is exactly what happens in Affimity – loads of interaction with like-minded people from the categories of your choice. And the categories are plenty! From Food, Family and Tech to Travel, Parenting and Random Thoughts. Rather thoughtful, isn’t it?
Affimity allows you to share not only your blog posts, but pictures, videos as well. You can also ask questions and conduct polls which is a great tool for Brands and Businesses who want to conduct a quick survey. Perfect, right?
Affimity has it’s very own app for both, IOS and Android. You can also work directly on the website which is pretty cool too. You have the choice to simply login through your Facebook account, or you can go for the sign up process which is very quick and easy, like I mentioned above.
In conclusion, I like Affimity very much for giving me a good reach and much better engagement.
Affimity is truly the coming together of Passion (Affinity) and Friendship (Amity) and what a combination, right? So, do try it out soon and let me know what you think. Or probably give me tips to make even better use of Affimity if you are already a user.
