Lazy Girl’s Guide To Natural Skin Care

Natural is always better, be it food, fabric, or even skin care. I have never been the one to dwell too much on makeup – a super bright lip-color being the ONLY makeup I put on. Lip-color and kohl – these two make my maximum makeup routine. But – I have always valued natural looking, bright and clear skin because that my friends, is the sign of a healthy lifestyle, not layers and layers of foundation, base, concealer, and what not. You agree? Well, we are on the same page then.

Skin Care Tips

With years of experience, personal and friends’, and going through various stages like challenging – teen years, hormonal – pregnancy and bewildering – post – delivery, I have realized two things:

  1. To look your best, you have to feel your best, and
  2. Trying to alter the effects of stress and age are almost impossible (sorry, age defying creams!) and while there is little that you can do about age, stress is something you can totally control. And the quicker you start to take care of yourself, the better.

And we all know that it’s best to trust the good old ancient knowledge on skin – care, over the off – the -shelf fast selling creams with stuff in it that even scientist haven’t heard of, right? I mean, today we have creams and moisturizers with more Vitamins, Minerals and exotic ingredients than the food the kids of this country kids get. There has to be something wrong with that, no?

And recently a few of my friends have been asking me if I do something special with my skin – like insanely expensive facials or some super secret ingredient imported from Himalayas. The answer is simple, but it might surprise you a bit. Be ready!

Alright then, in this post I am going to share a few of my mother’s fail proof, all DIY, and all natural tips for skin care.

Top 3 Natural And Simple Skin Care Tips For Healthy Skin:

1. Sweat it Out.

Really, there’s nothing that makes your skin really healthy that a good work out session that makes you sweat. It can be dancing, walking, playing a sport or anything that makes you sweat. Also try out a sauna or steam treatment at home for the same effect. Sweating does wonders for your skin by opening up pores and it also helps flush out toxins, making your skin look radiant.

2. Drink Like a Fish.

I mean water, not alcohol, obviously. It is no secret that drinking water helps the body in many ways, a healthy skin is juts one of the benefits. Aamir Khan says he drinks up to 5 liters of water every day and ust look at his skin – it’s as supple as a baby’s bottom. So drink a lot of water – and you can also try the current fad of detoxifying – cucumber and mint or orange and lime etcetera infused water but plain regular water does the trick too because the main thing here is hydration. A well hydrated skin looks radiant, youthful and healthy. And that’s the look we’re going for, right?

3. Utilize house hold items

Instead of falling for fancy ingredients advertised by huge cosmetic brands, go for the basics. Look inside the house for readily available and super effective skin care items like turmeric, sandal, milk, baking soda, gram flour, egg and more. Our mothers have told us the benefits of a DIY turmeric, curd and gram flour face mask, right? It’s time to actually try it. It works like magic. And if you think all this is a little too much fussy and slightly messy, I think that it’s time for us to try the VICCO Turmeric Cream and let it do all the work. VICCO is pure Ayurveda, which has various benefits over cosmetic facial cleansing regimes. An Ayurveda facial care regime improves the texture and health of skin as opposed to a harmful cosmetic ones. Its Ayurvedic formula combined with the microbicide properties of turmeric prevents oily skin, fights pimples and clears blackheads. I have to confess that after trying a lot of creams for my post pregnancy dry skin, I have come to love VICCO and the fast effect it has. Tried and tested, this one is. I vaguely remember my granny using VICCO and boy, her skin was RADIANT! Maybe that’s her secret, right? SO go on, Give VICCO a try. It’s also Made in India – so another reason for us to promote it.

I found this video on Youtube and thought of sharing it with you.

Hope this was helpful to at least some of you!

Stay healthy, stay happy darlings – that’s the best look.
