What’s your color?

Holi has just passed; I have red-pink ears, thanks to my brutal friends. I love colors. I love the sweets. I love the dance. I love the loud music. I love the only festival where you don’t have to rake your brain about what the F*#K to wear. And, since my stay in Delhi, I have suddenly started loving Holi (or any festival for that matter) simply because it is a holiday. And as every holiday, I packed my rucksack and rushed home.

Time to give a break to all my problems; they’ve been working over time now. Time to be LOUD and have some CRAZY fun. Wow! I am loving it. I am somehow in a mood to discuss colors today, so I dedicate this post to colors. Many people believe that colors have powers, I am one of them. Colors can influence your mood and your emotions.

A stereotypical start: My favorite color is Red.
Evidence: 3/4th of my wardrobe is filled with (Cluttered is the word) red outfits. (No red trousers, phlueeez)
On a bad day, when my spirits are down in a dump, wearing red cheers me. Weird, I know. But some believes are hard to shake off. Moving on, here is what I think of other colors. Not like you want to know (smile), but because I want to explain. Its about me, right? So read on.
Note: explanation is according to my preference.

I associate black with power, elegance, formality and obviously – mystery.
Where it relates to depth, It also has a negative connotation (blacklist, black humor, ‘black death’). A black suit or dress can make you look thinner. (That’s not for me though!) Also, you will notice that a black or gray background makes other colors stand out. Black contrasts well with bright colors. When I am not in red, I am in black.
The color of the sky and sea; it is a clam color. Also associated with depth. Blue, to me, stands for the nice things in life like trust, loyalty, wisdom, intelligence, faith, tranquility and heaven. I generally like the color, but hate drinks that are blue colored. Eek!
I see that blue is famous among men, a safe color I guess. For some reasons, I haven’t come across men that are experimental with colors. Its always the blacks, blues and grays for them. How boring.
The official color of nature which stands for growth, freshness, fertility and safety.
Green has great healing power and it suggests stability and endurance. Aqua green soothes the eyes and is relaxing. Green, in traffic signals, opposes Red and implies safety.
I think Green makes you look vibrant, especially bottle green. Dark green is also associated with money; I’m sure people like it!
I think Pink is a quiet color. I associate it with feelings of romance, caring, tenderness, self-worth and budding love. Going a lil’ bit far, I think Pink is for platonic love, the love of fairy-tales, a love that is bound to come true. Pink is a dream, which is relished. Sprinkle some pink hues on you when you need calmness and acceptance, not to forget, romance. It’s one feminine color that I like.
And finally,

Color of blood, passion and the raw side of life. Red is an emotional color. It is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination, desire and love. Red makes you stand out, owing to its very high visibility.
Or me, Red always lift my spirits up and make me feel energized. Red strikes the eyes making you an instant stand-out in a party. Oh I love Red.
(“Lady in Red” is one of my favorites)
Now, time for some action. Cast your votes on the following poll and lemmi know what is the HOT favorite color.
