Mansarovar The Fern: A Luxury Hotel Stay in Hyderabad

A Luxury Hotel Stay in Hyderabad: Review of Mansarovar The Fern

This is an exciting (and honest) review of my Luxury Hotel Stay in Hyderabad at Mansarovar The Fern, which is located in Begumpet and offers a stunning view of the famous Hussain Sagar lake. And oh, delicious, delicious food! (I’m still drooling over the food here, to be honest)

In April 2017, I planned my first ever trip to Hyderabad and I was much excited. I was invited to speak at a TEDx event in the city and I was to stay at Mansarovar The Fern for the duration of two days. Before the trip to Hyderabad even began, I saw pictures and read reviews of Mansarovar The Fern on the internet and was floored by it all.

In addition to the wonderful property, I was fascinated when I found out that Mansarovar The Fern is an Ecotel – an ecologically responsible luxury hotel that offers 5 star facilities in an eco-friendly way. The hotel tries to keep the use of plastics and other non-biodegradable products to a minimum, and takes Responsible Travel very seriously in all their practices.

Now, you already know about my obsession with Responsible & Sustainable Travel.

I have a series of videos with the ITC Hotels for their #ResponsibleLuxury initiative, I absolutely love the offbeat vacations I often take at Himalayan Eco Lodges‘ environment friendly properties, and earlier this year I covered the responsible and sustainable side of travel for SATTE in New Delhi – you can read my article on the same on Huffington Post here – Making Sustainable Travel Go Mainstream.

Knowing that my luxury stay was going to be eco-friendly as well, I was looking forward to this luxury hotel stay in Hyderabad even more!

The day of my travel, I had to take a flight from Dehradun to Delhi, and then Delhi to Hyderabad. It was a long trip and I was exhausted. As soon as I reached the hotel, which was about an hour’s drive away from the airport, I was given a warm welcome at the reception.

The lobby was beautiful and huge, and I kept staring at the art pieces. Within minutes, I was checked in and was escorted to my room on the fifth floor.

Mansarovar The Fern – The Property

This luxury hotel is one of the top ones in Hyderabad. With 102 well done rooms that spread across 5 floors, it is a popular option for international tourists as well. The room types available are standard rooms, suites and the impressive Presidential suite on the top floor.

The first thing you will notice when you enter the rooms at Mansoravar The Fern, is the size! The rooms here are spacious and very, very grand. Frankly, I can’t appreciate hotels with tiny rooms, especially when I am travelling with my family. So the big room with plenty of space to move around, was a delight.

My room had all amenities like free Wi Fi, a bed with comfortable feather mattresses, hair dryer in the washroom, robes, a safe for valuables, snacks and fruits, a mini-bar, Tea/Coffee maker and a writing desk with all supplies – in fact I wrote my TEDx talk pointers on the Mansarovar The Fern letterheads.

The bathroom had a shower cubicle, Light Makeup or Shaving mirror and all basic toiletries like shower gel, toothbrush and paste, shampoo etc.

I also want to mention here that the hotel provides complimentary mineral water bottles.

Food at Mansarovar The Fern was a big part of this Luxury Hotel Stay in Hyderabad.

The hotel has a 24-Hour room service. First, I tried their In-Room Dining because I reached at an odd time that was between lunch and dinner, and I was hungry after the long travel.

I ordered the chicken wrap with tangy salsa. It was delicious and very filling.

In fact it was so filling that I had to skip dinner that day and since I was in the process of finalizing the talking points for my upcoming TEDx Talk on the life of the Indian Army Wife – I just ordered a mug of delicious Hot Chocolate and called it a night.

I tried the Chicken Biryani the next day – Hyderabad’s most popular food item – and was floored by it. It was a feast, and along with the Phirni (Indian sweet dish made of rice) that the chef recommended, I was ready to go to food heaven by the time I finished my meal.

For dinner, the best option is to head to the rooftop restaurant because of the yummy food and also because it overlooks the Hussain Sagar Lake and what a view it is! I took so many pictures of this view and none did justice to the real thing.

I also stepped into the bar at the top floor and found it to be a well done area with a relaxed vibe, many books and a vast selection of liquor.

The Presidential Suit at Mansoravar The Fern

The hotel has one Presidential Suite. It is on the top floor and offers a first class view of the Hussain Sagar Lake through glass walls and huge windows. This suite is known as ‘The Buckingham Suite’ and has a separate living and bedroom, walk-in glass shower, exclusive pantry for butler as well as facility of in room spa and even a gym.

Facilities for Business Clients

Manasarovar The Fern Hyderabad also has plenty to offer to its business guests. There are 4 Banquet Halls and 2 Board Rooms. The Banqueting venues have the capacity to accommodate around 1500 people at once. All are equipped with state-of-art facilities.

Like I mentioned earlier in this post, Mansarovar The Fern Hyderabad is a great choice for a good and enjoyable stay for families, even with kids. The hotel has a well equipped gym, sauna and steam rooms for you to enjoy, and some indoor sports.

I think there are Spa services as well, but I did not get tie to sample it so won’t be able to comment on that.

However, the hotel goes a step ahead in hospitality and offers customized services for special requirements like their ‘In room Pillow menu’ for a good night’s sleep.

Chiraan Fort

As an Added advantage, the famous Chiraan Fort is right in front of Mansarovar The Fern and is a total delight. It was so special in its Nizami Architecture and royal vibe, that I have decided to do an entire post about it. Stay tuned, okay?

I loved the Food here. I loved the spacious rooms even more. Overall, I loved my stay here, as it showed me my first glimpse of the beautiful city of Hyderabad and floored me with its hospitality and great food. This was a short trip – and my TEDx talk went very well, in case you’re wondering – and I loved every bit of it, thanks to Mansarovar The Fern.
